The 2012 Airport Fly-In was a great year for crowds and fun. An early low cloud cover may have limited the number of planes, but it didn't limit the fun for the community, families or pilots. There was a great variety of planes, wooden planes for the kids, a yummy pancake and sausage breakfast, a highly successful Young Eagles program including flights with the kids after the event was over, an internet cafe provided by Technology For All for flight simulators and other piloting games, other guessing games to play, and a beauty contest for the airplanes. All and all a great time.

Veterans Memorial fundraiser to be Saturday
Cory Morrow headlines Veterans Memorial Fundraiser this weekend!
Get your tickets to the day of activities and live music by heading to Smithville City Hall or checking out their facebook page at Smithville TX Veterans Memorial Park. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the gate.
Register for lots of fun team tournaments and races also, including a fun "bed race" idea for teams of five. There are also softball and volleyball tournaments. For full details, go to the facebook page.

The Colorado River Trail’s 3rd annual Flickr Photo Contest will accept entries through May 18th. Sarah Page will be posting to Facebook and Twitter daily throughout the duration of the contest. The contest theme is “Show us how you’d spend the perfect day on the Colorado River Trail.”
