Welcome to the Smithville Community Network.

The world is changing, and S.C.N. realizes the importance of communication and learning via technology.  The Smithville Community Network has a three-pronged mission. 

1. Free Wireless Access/Free Computer Access - First it is our goal to provide access to the internet free of charge through wireless connections and computers available to the public.
2. Basic Computer Education - Secondly, we strive to provide basic education courses regarding selected Information Technology topics. 
3. Information Channel - Finally, it is our intent to provide a conduit for information available from the Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce, The City of Smithville, and the Smithville Independent School District.

By making computer/internet access available along with training, SCN believes that the individual, and community as a whole, benefits on an economic level and with a higher standard of living.  SCN welcomes volunteers with the same goals or technological skill.

Please note that the Smithville Recreation Center has 10 broadband internet access computers available for FREE USE during Rec Center hours - 7 days a week.
